How Our Stump Grinding Service Works
The service we offer for tree stump removal in Eastbourne follows a straightforward process. We start with a visit to assess the stump, check access, and confirm the best approach. On the day, we bring our Laski stump grinder, a compact but powerful machine that is purpose-built for this work. The Laski grinds the stump and its major surface roots into small wood chippings, typically to a depth of around 20 to 30 centimetres below ground level.
The whole process is surprisingly quick. Most single stumps take under an hour. Once grinding is complete, we backfill the hole with the chippings or remove them entirely if you prefer. We leave the area clean, level, and ready for whatever you have planned. If you would like to keep the chippings for use as mulch in your borders, you are welcome to.
Built for Eastbourne Gardens
Eastbourne gardens come in all shapes and sizes, and we have worked in most of them. From the narrow terraced plots in Old Town and Meads to the larger, more open gardens around Ratton and Willingdon, we know how to get our equipment in and complete the job without causing damage to paths, lawns, or neighbouring plants.
Access can be tricky in some parts of Eastbourne, particularly in the Victorian and Edwardian streets where side gates are narrow and rear gardens sit behind the house. Our Laski stump grinder is compact enough to pass through standard garden gates, and we always carry out a site visit first to plan the safest and most efficient route in. We have also handled stump removal on sloped plots, in front gardens close to the pavement, and on properties bordering the South Downs where chalky soil conditions require a slightly different approach.
For properties within conservation areas, such as parts of Meads and the Old Town, we can advise on any considerations that may apply before work starts.
